Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.
We foster a vibrant and meaningful outreach program to support those in need. Students work with the Religious Education Coordinator and Family Educator to meet the needs of groups in the wider community. Partnerships for outreach include Mini Vinnies and the House of Welcome.
As the year evolves the school seeks ways to respond to current community events such as the Bushfire Appeal, aid for Flood victims and supporting refugees.
Adults in our school community also have a regular involvement in the St Vincent de Paul Night Patrol.
