History
St Joan of Arc Catholic Primary School was opened in 1910 under the care of the Presentation Sisters from Wagga Wagga before transferring to lay leadership in the late 1980s.
Charism
The school takes its strength from the inspiration of two remarkable women in history. St Joan of Arc was a woman of outstanding courage who did not bow to the political pressure of her time and eventually died at the stake, a martyr for her country and her faith. Nano Nagle was a Irish woman who used her wealth to provide homes and schools for the homeless children of the city of Cork in Ireland. After her father died and her funds dried up, Nano gathered a group of like-minded women around her and continued the work. The charism of Nano Nagle is strong in our school with symbols of the lamp of learning and the Nano Nagle icon prominent in the school.

With the presence of Jesus alive in our hearts, St Joan of Arc Catholic Primary School Haberfield is committed to preparing students within the Catholic faith, under the guidance of St Joan of Arc and Nano Nagle, so they can effectively function and contribute to their global community.

We enjoy an excellent relationship with the St Joan of Arc Parish Haberfield. The parish priest and parish community are vital to the faith development of our students. It is within this wide community of believers that our students are spiritually enlivened.
We work together on Sacramental programs and collaborate on outreach events to grow our students in their faith through word and action, modelled on the life of Jesus. Understanding what our faith calls us to be is fundamental to our Catholic school.
